One of the biggest problems that I see most people go through who are trying the best to learn Internet Marketing business is how they manage their own time. For example you spend two to three hours a night trying to learn how to set up a website and get your HTML editor to make a website that work. After about 35 to 40 hours of struggling, you finally give up and hire a designer to set up your site for you which you paid him less than $500.
When you add up the hours that you spend trying to learn how to set up a website, the cost was $10,000 in time you wasted (assuming you had been able to finished the site in that 40 hours and that it look as good as the programmer’s work).
One skill that you need to learn early when you just started out is to understand how to decide which projects you should do and which you should outsource. You should make decisions based on your benchmark because this is what you value your time at.
So you look at a project and see how much it will cost. If it will cost you $2000 to get someone else to do it, but would only take an hour for you to finish up the it’s worth for you to just do it. But if it’s going to take you long hours to do it, then it’s not worth your time. So what you have to do first is to figure out what you feel the value of your time is. Which task would cost you less then that dollar amount if you had someone else doing them instead of you?
You must understand that spending your time doing everything is counterproductive. So what you need to do in your business? Well that is the question. What is it that you are best in or would like to become the best in? It is very important to ask yourself that question and build your business so you can focus on what you enjoy and are best in. It’s vital that you understand the value of your time, and make decision on what you are and are going to do based on that.It is not difficult to understand the concept of time and cost management but it can be extremely hard to apply them to the everyday decision that you make, both in business and in life.Take this moment and try to evaluate where you are spending your time and focus one business opportunity at a time. After that ask yourself is the choice you make are leading to the best possible out come or are just wasting your time and cost. By doing and applying the time and cost management concept, you’ll be able to stretch your time and resource further then you though possible.
