What can I write about iPhone extras that has not already been written. I actually feel intimidated by the myriad of articles that have been written about it. There are people who love it. And people who - well - don’t actually love it. In an age where the question of it’s touchscreen’s sensitivity attracts more attention than George Bush’s next foreign policy disaster, (OK, wrong example, I know you stopped caring about Bush long time ago) I am at complete loss of words, sentences and paragraphs to mention anything about i-Phone that has not yet written, spoken, demonstrated or wondered about.
Nevertheless, I venture to tell you things that I guarantee you do not know about ii. And all this, without owning an iPhone. Yes, I know its still a dream for most of us, but, by the time this article ends, you will be one step closer to buying the ultimate gadget.
- The i-Phone has Safari. Yes I know that you know this. But what you do not know is that this version of Safari has an added application to view YouTube videos. This is done keeping in mind the speed of browsing over the iPhone.
- You know that you can use a finger to scroll webpage on Safari. But what you don’t know is that you can use two fingers to scroll subpage elements like frames etc.
- All the webpages that you see on i-Phone are the full version of the webpages. iPhone is set, by default, to view the full version of the website. Well, with iPhone in hand, who needs those crappy m-versions?
- The AT&T have designed a special SIM for it. Now this is definitely a first. AT&T did changes at the network level to accommodate i-Phone-specific services like non-linear mailbox
- “Trust the phone”, said Steve Jobs. And you know what, believe him. He knows what he is saying. I tried one of my friend’s i-Phone. I just started typing blindly. The fastest I have ever typed. And there was not even a single mistake. Trust me, when I say that. The auto-correct feature does packs some real punch. It’s the best I have ever come across.
- The multi-touchscreen is not just a fancy add-on. Its one of the most important feature of the iPhone. Computer World carried out an interesting study. The i-Phone, when pitted against stalwarts like HTC Touch and Nokia N 95, emerged triumphant. In the tests, users who have never used these devices were given these machines to play with. It was found that the users took to the iPhone fastest. The time required for getting “used to” i-Phone was the least.
